No lah, I don’t think she wanted to keep the phone for herself. If she had wanted, she wouldn’t have flashed her wide smile at you when you came to claim the phone. She didn’t answer the phone possibly because she may not know how to handle a PDA phone even though the usual buttons are there.

Everyday there are many such incidents that get repeated and repeated, mainly due to carelessness or simply forgetfulness on the part of the owner.

Sometimes they are stolen, and sometimes they are just left behind when pre-occupied with other stuff. You be surprised that many phones are found in toilet, atm, stores etc…
