Oh I do remember :) At that time I paid around S$75 per night for the room. I thought it's a pretty good deal considering the spaciousness and the unlimited broadband internet connection. I'm not sure if you can still get it this cheaply though.

Hello there...I happened to just stumble upon your blog and I thought it's rather interesting indeed.
And reading your entry from Bangkok...how I wish wireless access was THAT easily available in KL since I can't live without my laptop.
Hope we may be acquainted and perhaps, one day become travelling buddies because I love travelling too! ;)

wow! so many pictures! a very detailed entry indeed. for a 3 Star hotel in an ulu place, the hotel room really really looks much closer to that of a 4 and a 1/2 star hotel room.

besides all the normal stuff. Its wise if you can pack a baby tripod in future. it'll help with all the night exposures. Its not that you're camera cannot take pictures as night. Its just that the exposure is sometimes so long that well.. handshake blurs out the picture.

the thai people have tremendous respect for their king. Even though he has no formal powers save a few symbolic ones. He is greatly revered and respected throughout the kingdom. His birthday is a national holiday. I was told once, in 91 when there was a serious riot between the army and rioting university students. he appeared on the scene and asked both sides to stop fighting. and immediately. calm ensued. He's that powerful because all Thai people hold him in high esteem. Just look at the back of every thai coin you have.

you're right to say that billboard ads are banned in singapore.that's why our cityscape and skylines are so clean and not inundated with flashing neon signs like in HK or in most parts of the world.

have a good trip ahead. Look forward to continually reading each post of yours this week. God bless!

to breakme_if_u_dare, my internet connection is to a local area network, not wireless network. but i'm not fussing over this because it's super stable. i can't live without my laptop too! that's why i made sure to book a serviced apartment with in-room high speed internet access.

yo alwyn! i have to keep my entry as detailed as possible since people at home are reading this :D. anyway the place is a local 4-star. the surrounding environment doesn't look that good, but i totally love the apartment. it's super clean already, and it still gets further cleaned up everyday! haven't seen an ant or any insect in my room so far.

thanks for the camera tip! yeah you are right. i totally forgot all about my mini tripod since i have never used it before; it's too much of a hassle to have to find a good support and set it up and everything. but i guess it's worthwhile if i can get good pictures after all of that.

yup, the thais respect the king a lot. from what my thai friends told me, they seem to like him pretty much. they said the king is a nice person, but not his son who's a womaniser.

would be continually blogging, so stay tuned :).
