Nice website and the blog on HK is great ^_^ Came across it when I was searching for Le Coq Sportif, as I will be going to HK to purchase more stuff with the 'rooster logo during CNY. I will certainly be seeing plenty of CNY decorations. Haven't been back to celebrate CNY in HK for 18 years. My surname is ANG as well, birthday also in August... It's a small world after all, it's freaky!

Yes, we have decorations being put up for this Chinese New Year celebration. However, for the time being, I found it best being at the Sungai Wang Plaza where it is mostly visited by the Chinese. Berjaya Time Square, not so special, even their Christmas decoration was so- so only. Yet to check up at other crowded places such as MidValley Megamall, The Curve and One Utama (these places a bit far from my house).

Hey Walter,

The hideous pink cloth is gone! At least, it looked to be when I passed by the place yesterday. Phew!

Great design in enhancing the coming chinese new year! Too bad I'm not in Singapore during this time to see all these fascinating decorations.

Yes, it's coming and wish all those who celebrate this coming season, Kung Hei Fat Choi, though it's a bit early!

Agree that the pink cloths at South Bridge Road looks really weird. Its like somebody tried to put up something and then ran out of ideas and just left the flags up there. Deepavali and Hari Raya light ups were much better last year. Hopefully there will be some pleasant surprises after this Saturday's launch!

Oooh I've seen those red flowers with lights along New Bridge Road. They are beautiful aren't they? I was pretty impressed!

But have you seen the decor at South Bridge Road? They have those strips of pink cloth stretched across the road. It looked plain weird and was quite an eyesore even for someone that likes pink! I'm hoping it's just incomplete work in progress that I saw.

I just passed by Chinatown this evening en route from my in laws place and saw that they have already put up the pink and red coloured decor with flowers along Eu Tong Sen and New Bridge Road. This year, I must say it looks very feminine.

I didn't see any pigs though, which is likely due to the need to be sensitive to the feelings of other ethnic and religious groups.

Will be checking out the light up at Chinatown this Saturday and reporting on it ;)

I don't know about you Veron, but the 2nd picture gives me the Christmas-y feel... could it be the flower balls, or my stereo-typical, red-phillic view of Chinese New Year. Anyway, I love them all the same, because CNY = Ang Pao!
