i didn’t get to sleep much last night. but the little baby sure did. i was quite worried he wouldn’t survive the night because he didn’t have anything to drink. early this morning i called up SPCA for advice and they said i could feed him either goat’s milk or carnation milk if i didn’t have access to a pet shop.
i went down and got the carnation milk. but he kept crying and refused to drink it. i didn’t know what else to do! he hadn’t drank anything for more than twelve hours and must had been starving. i had to wait until 12pm for the couple of pet shops in my neighborhood to open. the first one didn’t sell any milk.
the second one had lactose-free milk for pets, but didn’t have any form of milk bottle or syringe i could use. the salesgirl didn’t seem to know much about animals either, even though she’s running a pet shop! i was quite annoyed at the end of the trip.
there was no choice. i had to seek my neighbors for help. i know of a muslim family that loves cats a lot. i managed to get a dropper from them to feed the kitty with. thankfully this time, he drank a little milk and i managed to get him to pee too. phew! kittens at this age can’t pee on their own yet. i had to use the towel to gently rub his bottom.
feeding him took the longest time because he was crying nonstop and it was extremely difficult getting drops of milk into his tiny mouth. it broke my heart man, when he couldn’t stop crying. but at the same time i knew he had to drink the milk or else he would die. i think i’m having some slight understanding of how it feels like to be a mother, sort of.

anyway he got to sleep soon, cuddled up next to the doraemon alarm clock and the warm water bottle (covered). phew! i’m supposed to feed him every two hours so i can’t really rest much. i’m EXHAUSTED!
SPCA said there’s only a very slim chance he would survive. i hope he pulls through, although i really doubt the milk would provide sufficient nutrition for a three-day-old kitten.

Did the kitty survive? My cat gave birth tonight and rejected the first kitten, so, I had no choice but try to take care of it. How did your “cow-cat” do? View all comments by Kim
