Crap! I just got back from the dermatologist all relieved because this thing on my eyelid is a cyst, not a tumor... but cysts don't sound so fun now! The Dr put liquid nitrogen on mine and told me to use warm compresses... see a dr. again if that doesn't make it go away. It better go away! Thanks for the gruesome details - at least I know what to expect if I have to go back to the Dr.

heya, i typed "eye cyst" in yahoo, happened to see ur site there.. haa.. gosh, its my 4th time having this stupid thing.. I'm a "regular patient" (for cyst). its like having a mini ball above my eye lid, makes me really don't feel like goin out or even looking at the mirror man.. I cried after every operation.. haa. GiRLs lah~ But am lucky that it grow on the eye lid, not inside of the eye lid.. gosh.. compared to my cousin, well, he had 9(or more!) cuts since young(i think he's pri1 now) worst right? Anyway, avoid heaty foods.. and eye make up removal.. very important!!! you can buy eye wash/bath.. after make-up remover, tab some on cotton wool, then eye wash.. well, better to be safe than sorry!! we're jus unlucky~ =(((

Well folks at the begining of the year i had a cyst on my lower eye lid ,it wasn't that big but had it removed none the less ,and all was well for a few months then on my upper eye lid i could see another one but it was tiny its now August and its now the size of a pea ,so i went to the doctors ,and she did not even look at it she just said oh its just another cyst ....i was like oh just another cyst but its bigger this time and if i get this one cut out will it come back somwere else ,she said yeah it might you might be prone to them now ...... so i am like oh great .the thing is its more a vanity thing on your lower lid ,but when its on your upper lid it makes my lid droop when i am tired which means i am going to have to get it removed ,or scraped out ...so my advice if its small and not causeing any problem leave it as it only opens a can of worms if you have it removed.but if its on the upper lid well you have no choice in the matter as it affects your eyesight ....just remember that it can come back they only tell you this once they have removed ...and they are not sore just a bit of a pain to get the removed

Thanks so much for posting this story. I have had this problem for years now,... and the cyst rubbing on my pupil/iris is really painful. I'm so glad that you've written all the details of the procedure. Am thinking this has contrubuted to my Insomnia. It sounds like it might have helped your sleep, considering you fell asleep after the procedure.

yay at least someone understands my pain. i would rather have ten injections on my arm than a single injection on my eyelid. so bloody painful!

bad news is, the cyst isn't completely gone. there's still a tiny bump but far less visible than before. the doctor said it contains nerve fibre or something and can't be gotten rid of, although it should disappear on its own within the next few weeks. i'm quite skeptical. it feels hard and i doubt it would just go away by itself.

i know exactly how painful it is to have a needle on the eyelid, cos i've experienced it before. if i'm not wrong... to actually anathesize the entire eye area.. it takes about 12 injections all around plus 3 on the eyelid itself to entirely numb the area.

well there's alot of blood after all cos so much fresh blood flows in the arteries throughout the head area. in the meantime, have a speedy speedy recovery.

Hihi, I found your site a while back and been following you since, I'mma quiet stalker :P

omigoodness, that sounds so naaassttyyy. when I think of how that pain in your eyeball must've felt, I imagine an uber icecream headache and add some.

I had some teeth filled recently and the numbing stuff they gave me worked fine, but wasn't strong enough. I could feel the drilling and pain all up in my head and jaw.

anyways, good luck with that.

hi mandy, good to see you here!

sorry to hear that you had to go for the painful teeth filling procedure. i kinda think any of these operations done above the neck would be 10x more painful than elsewhere on the body... maybe because it's located nearer to the brain? *LOL*

the eye operation was no joke. i wouldn't want to go through it ever again, even if i had to:determined:.

Just found and read your story about eyelid scraping due to a cyst. My wife is just waiting to get a call to tell her to go for the same operation anytime now and cos she's worried about it I thought I'd see if I could find anything on the net about the op. Maybe hoping that I could ease her worries but your factual account of your experience doesn't bode well for her. Needless (xcuse the pun) to say, I won't be telling her the details of your op. - I think it's best if she just goes for it - fingers crossed.
Hope you haven't had any re-occurrence of the eyelid problem - Geoff (England)
