was reading the newspapers today when i came across this image that really made me go wow!
this is the habitat hotel in barcelona, designed by enric ruiz of cloud 9 architecture (such a magical name!). to be completed in 2008, there would be an energy mesh wrapped around the hotel consisting of LEDs. in the daytime, the energy mesh would collect energy from the sun’s rays and give off colorful lights at night, varying from season to season. isn’t that pretty?
i wanna stay there when it’s done!
somewhere else, on a desolate highway in texas, there is an art installation by prada, named the prada marfa.
this is a very interesting project. the building does not serve as a regular prada store, but more for exhibition purpose, where prada bags and shoes are displayed to passing motorists. there is nobody manning the building at all. hence it comes as no surprise that burglars have already broken in and took off with the designer items.
aren’t these interesting? since we’re on the subject of architecture…
