Beni: Oh yeah, yakitori. I have amended my post. YOU take care now, my friend!

Kyo: Someone suggested Brauhaus but that's the one at United Square, different from Paulaner Brauhaus at Millenia Walk (I think). But do German places have Belgian beers?

Isn't Ginza an expensive place to stay in? Wow!

py: Awesome suggestion! Beer + Heritage = Educational trip with lotsa fun!

Not exactly. I know you do drink beer, and I know you would love to hear about the heritage behind Raffles Place, so I think you would like Tipple Exchange too. :)

Two places (one mentioned already) where you can find lots of beer:

Oosters for all the Belgian beer you'd want, plus more (doesn't come with chocolate though!)

Beer Cellar next to Kazbah, just next to Oosters

Paulaner Brauhaus is also famous, but that's already been suggested

Hehe, planning to visit Japan next year myself (even have the accommodation at Ginza sorted out already, talk about advanced prepration!), so this series of posts comes just in time!

Willy: Oh? Tell me more!

Ken: I think it depends on which part of the US you're talking about. When I was in Texas last November I found the prices to be really decent and comparable to Singapore's, and definitely much cheaper relative to Japan.

Daphne Maia: Have been eyeing Oosters for quite some time. Hope they have those beers!

py: Wow the Tipple Exchange walk sure sounds interesting! My, I must seem like a real alcoholic to be the first person you thought of.

mit: Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful site !!
Thanks for visiting Tokyo + Our parade :-)
Once my Singaporean friend visited me
and I took him to Tokyo Disneyland.
Japan is worth to know country
in many ways, I think.
Please visit Japan again :-)

The tiramisu sure looks divine. Talking about beer, you may wish to check out the Original Singapore Walk's Tipple Exchange walk. I went for it earlier this month, and you are one of the first person I thought of who would probably like it too. Here's my post on it.

I have to disagree about Tokyo being expensive. I think the prices are about the same as they are here in the USA. The only thing that is definitely expensive is real estate in Tokyo.

Yeah everything in Japan — food, transportation, shopping — is more expensive than most places. Someone told me that Tokyo is the most expensive place in the world to live in!

Like you, I hate having to restrict my spending when I'm on holiday; I tend to splurge. So short-term holidays are fine.

The food looks good...how are the prices there in general? I heard of how expensive eating out is over there and people were recommending me to grab bento sets @ supermarkets and cup noodles if I ever go! Hmm, not my idea of a holiday if I'm eating cup noodles every day!

Hz: Okay! Thanks!

Aristocrat: Dude! I kept a lookout for the liquor you wanted but didn't see it anywhere. The brand Suntory was available in abundance though. And oh, Black Cat sounds yummy.

viswali: It is! I haven't heard of a single person who went there and didn't love it.

seems like there are a lot of libators here! your pix made me wish i was there though, v.

ahhaa, does one good once in a while to be reminded of the "no mixing" but then again, you don really care when there's a good time to be had.

truisms aside, the relationship between puking/hangover and what you drink mainly derives from the impurities present inside those feverish liquids. having a black cat before any beer is definitely not gonna leave you in the clear, of course that's the worst drink i cld think of.

come to think of it, it also depends on what you grow up drinking.

You can checked out the Brauhaus
(101 Thomson Road, #B1-13/14 United Square, tel 6250 3116), for a wide range of beer similar to the one you find in Japan. ;)

Dennis: You said that right. It was a joy just looking at the pretty things alone. I've never seen food that was so beautifully decorated and arranged until I came to Japan.

Everything there looks great!

Willy: "Liquor before beer, you're in the clear." For real? That's a very useful piece of information if it is true!
