and finally it’s over. my three month stint at celestica. gone in a flash!
up to a week ago, i didn’t realise i was actually leaving this place. i mean, i KNEW i was leaving. but the sensation of it didn’t fully sink in until last friday. only after the farewell dinner with my boss allan did i realise i couldn’t bear to leave celestica! i was genuinely sad.
i have grown so used to waking up early in the morning, all groggy from not having enough sleep. i would take a bus to the commonwealth MRT station before boarding a train to jurong east and then woodlands MRT station. i would walk that familiar path to the celestica building, at times on my own, at times with a colleague at my side. i would arrive at work (late), greet my boss allan, say hello to xanthe, before plonking down in my chair and starting up the computer. and then i would proceed to make a steaming hot cup of nescafé 3-in-1 and officially start the day’s work.
the day goes on. i would do my daily reports for philip the senior manager and various other tasks. more cups of coffee and milo follow. xanthe and i would be laughing and joking almost throughout the day. some days after work we would head to causeway point to window-shop.
now all of that is over!

it’s strange how i could miss something that is so routine. here’s a final look at my cubicle. the cd-rom hanged strategically on the wall shows me whoever is walking up behind me. and then there is my mug of course. even with the barely decorated walls and boring looking cubicle, i’m gonna miss working in there!
spent some time taking photos at the office today, and saying my final goodbyes. most importantly, i presented allan with an award that he deserves very much.

thanks boss! if it had been anyone else, working in celestica for the past three months would have been vastly different. oh yeah, this definitely wouldn’t be the last you see of me!
even though it’s been tough not having sufficient sleep on a daily basis, and commuting three hours per day, i’m still gonna miss working at celestica. i miss the familiarity. i miss the job flexibility. i miss causeway point. but most importantly i miss the people. there are a few people that i’ve come to love, and i sure hope we would continue to keep in touch.
