maybe it’s maybelline!
nah-uh, don’t worry, i ain’t giving out makeup tips (only because i suck at it). but i figured since i’m always on the lookout for nice designs and pretty things, my blog can occasionally showcase products that look good. it will be something like cuteable.
i got hold of a couple of “my beauty book” from maybelline recently. guess what the book is about? an idiot’s guide to cosmetics? makeup techniques? color guide?
ta-da! it’s a makeup palette!

so this post isn’t going to interest the guys very much, not unless they wanna impress women with their newfound knowledge on cosmetics. i really dig the attractive packaging. the vibrant strips of vivid colors would grab anyone’s attention!
made to resemble a hardcover book, this makeup kit snaps shut magnetically. the palette consists of a blusher, 2 lip glosses, 4 eye colors, and a color applicator. then there’s that large functional mirror on the underside of the lid.
everything is dry and nothing runs, so no worries about spillages. with its ultra slim form factor, it makes an ideal item to carry around in the bag. plus, it looks funky!
“my beauty book” comes in two different choices — enchanting eden (blue and green tones) and pop princess (pastel tones, displayed in the photo).
anyway, i didn’t buy these. let’s just say that it’s awesome knowing someone that works for l’oréal; i no longer have to spend on beauty and skincare products! they have several brands under their wing — l’oréal, maybelline, ralph lauren, shu uemura, lancome, et cetera. life is good!
okay! done with the bragging!

i saw this at watson’s and guardian.. was very tempted to buy it just because of the attractive packaging!
but.. the colors all really don’t suit me. :P View all comments by Daphne
Wow! That’s beautiful! If only there is a lip colour palette! I can’t seems to get that kind of palette of reputable brands like Loreal or Shiseido etc, only the make-up artist’s set or some unknown brands. View all comments by Xanthe
Lip palettes aren’t exactly practical. That’s why they aren’t readily available. Personally I prefer lip colors in tube or stick form. View all comments by Veron
Very pretty colours there! You know Veron, you should do this from time to time, introduce some clothes or makeup (sorry to the guys who are regulars!)…I’m looking for white colour eye make up which will kinda act as a highlighter. Any recommendations? View all comments by Joyz
I’m using this shimmery white eye color from Ettusais. It’s a very safe and versatile color that you can use alone or as a highlighter. Check out their cream eye color range. There’s only one such color there. It’s pretty long-lasting and doesn’t cause creases the way many cream eye colors do. View all comments by Veron
Looks pretty sweet - so as long as my sis/mum doesn’t have their eyes on it. :P View all comments by Brennan

Yeah, that, plus the fact that it would be too small. Come to think of it, it’s pretty easy to do up an art piece like this. It’s just strips of color! View all comments by Veron
Wow that’s pretty! :) View all comments by Jacelyn

Dear Xanthe,
Lip palettes aren’t as easy to find as eyeshadow versions, but give “Sugar” a chance (find it as sephora). It folds open like a tri-fold card. There are shadows and blush, along with twelve amazing (not over-powering) glosses which smell Heavenly and smooth and soothe while they make your pout pretty–there’s a hue for every woman, from pinks to reds and bronze!
God Bless,
