another first! this time, it’s the first silver jewelry i’ve made. my friend minyan requested a charm necklace recently. she’s someone who’s not used to wearing necklaces, and hence preferred a simple piece in silver. i was given a $20 budget to work with, which was a rather tight one so i really racked my brains on this.

i could use any charms i want because in her words, she trusts my taste haha. having no guidelines proved harder than i thought. finally i decided to make a piece that would bring across the soothing mood of relaxation. probably something with a sea theme to it, i thought.
for the centerpiece i used an acoustic guitar charm studded with diamantes. to its sides i added a detailed seashell charm in gold, and a little silver pointed star, or starfish. the little blue bead atop the star represented the blue sea. i thought something was still missing, so i threw in a string of gold little stars, wavy like the fluid waves of the sea.

i am more accustomed to working with gold chains because they somewhat have more “color” and the finished pieces mostly can’t look too wrong. so this is my first piece of silver jewelry and hopefully after this i would get more comfortable working with silver.
i title this piece “moonlit waltz by the sea”, which is exactly how i wish her life would be like. peaceful, beautiful and calm, like a moonlit waltz by the sea.

goes by the name veron (english) or wanting (chinese). a definitive leo born august 1, 1984. a solo traveler. loves cats, coffee, sensual music, yummy food and technology. when she's not at her job as an IS developer for the government, she's likely to be out dining, or visiting an interesting art gallery or event.

Hi!
This is the first time I’m leaving a comment here, even though I’ve been reading your blog for quite some time. I really admire some of your charm jewellery, especially the love from me to you bracelet, probably because I dig charm bracelets alot haha. I do my own accessories too, so perhaps next time we can exchange some tips, ya? =) View all comments by Skylar
Hi Skylar! I love charms too! Right now I haven’t gotten around to experimenting with beads yet, because charms alone are so pretty already! Seems like the “Love from Me to You” charm bracelet is pretty popular. I’m thinking of making one for myself too, using something else in place of the bear charm. And yeah, let’s exchange tips some day! View all comments by Veron

Hi sab, thanks for the encouragement! Come to think of it, it’s almost time to change this layout. But I think the next layout wouldn’t be able to better this one. View all comments by Veron
