hey people, i would be in america from tomorrow onwards. so, no more blogging when i’m there! i probably wouldn’t have any free time for leisure stuff like sightseeing and photo-taking as this is a business trip. damn! i’ve been waiting to say that phrase for ages! it sounds so… grown up.
many thanks to my kind boss burak for giving me this awesome opportunity! i hope to make you proud.
i haven’t been away since that trip to bali back in may. this is going to sound pretty sad and weird, but simply watching planes take off at the airport or gazing out at the ships at sea gets me all thoughtful and teary-eyed sometimes. i can’t even explain it. just the idea of going away, even if it is for work, gives me a feeling of emancipation that i so crave for but haven’t felt for a long time. it really cheers me up a lot.
the constant wanting to be free is the reason why all this while, i still prefer taking trips alone. for this business trip i wouldn’t be going solo, which i don’t mind at all. having said that, i’m still proud to be a lone female traveler. i have taken numerous solo trips abroad but none of them trumps that trip to bangkok back in december 2004. that was one experience i would never forget! argh, just reading those blog entries gets me all hot and bothered. it’s been two years… seems like forever.
perhaps it’s time to start planning for a real solo trip, when i return of course.
be back soon.

goes by the name veron (english) or wanting (chinese). a definitive leo born august 1, 1984. a solo traveler. loves cats, coffee, sensual music, yummy food and technology. when she's not at her job as an IS developer for the government, she's likely to be out dining, or visiting an interesting art gallery or event.

Drink lotsa plain water prior to the long trip (even if you stop over taiwan or japan). It will help you in preventing jet lag or headache (for some) when you reached.
Also try your very best to stay awake till the local time (USA) after 11pm. It will help you to adjust your jet lag.
Have a great trip. :) View all comments by Paddy Tan
Thanks Paddy! Great tip, especially the one about adjusting to jet lag. I would try to stay awake no matter what. View all comments by Veron

Sorry for the late late reply. Saw your the other entry, that you are back. :)
Do the same thing back in singapore … tahan till 11pm and drink lotsa water. For a long trip stay in US with different timing, you will take about 3 days to totally adjust it. But just continue to drink more plain water. No beer, no party and you will recover faster.
I used to travel to US every few weeks and to europe every 6 weeks till the body clock screwed up! hahah.. now glad that dont have to fly much. View all comments by Paddy Tan
