all things considered, i would say i had a good year in 2006. it wasn’t necessarily a happy year. let’s just say i’m glad for all the things that had happened, whether good or bad. i would not elaborate more. when bad things happen, they either make or break a person.
and well, i am still here :)
but let’s get on with the new year resolutions shall we? in no particular order, and to be fully executed or completed by december 31, 2007:
1. To be more giving: not just to those around me, but to strangers as well. albert pine once said, “what we do for ourselves dies with us. what we do for others and the world remains and is immortal.” my $2 pledge is a good start. hopefully i can influence those around me to be more giving too.
2. Trust my instincts: stay away from those that give me a bad feeling. that little voice inside my head has always been rather accurate. time to start listening.
3. Ignore stupid behavior: male chauvinism, condescending behavior, egocentrism, power trips. why waste time getting worked up over the jerks that perpetrate such stupidity?
4. Exercise more: once you start working you start putting on weight. not good!
5. Have job satisfaction: i don’t know if this can be pursued as a goal, but it is something i hope to have.
6. Get driving license: my boss has been reminding me (at the frequency of once per week) to take driving lessons. i admit i don’t really see the importance of this yet. but since i have to get it sooner or later, i better…
7. Procrastinate less: this is going to be a tough one.
8. Read Lord of the Rings: the movies were out-of-this-world fantastic. i have the novels sitting in my book cabinet for years, but i’ve never gotten past chapter one of the fellowship.
9. Visit Japan or Europe: it doesn’t matter where it is.
10. Have fun: i mean, seriously! at the age of 22-23, there’s never a better time.
what are yours?

Wow, Good list!
I also resolved to procrastinate less, but spent most of monday and tuesday in bed. And we’re off to a flying start :)
But on sunday the 31st, looking in the eyes of a good friend, I too was convinced its gonna be a good year. For no other reason, than that we would make it so!
I Know a lot of people find resolutions passé, but personally, i find them useful because it allows you introspection, they encourage you to assess your life, and therein, what is lacking. But a resolution is by no means an end. Its a goal, that needs to be pursued. With that in mind, I resolve to:
1. Procrastinate less (LOL this one was doomed from the start!) and leave no loose ends for the next day…
2. Live by no one’s expectations but my own. I know this sounds a little narcissistic, but lets face it, unless i can look myself in the mirror each morning, what does it matter who i please during the rest of the day?
3. Occasionally leap… without looking to see whats beyond. Fear of the unknown can keep us from exploring. I hope to conquer that fear
4. Take my career where i want it to go. Its about time i did…
5. Learn Flash :) dont ask…
6. Be a better son. Long story
7. To be more selfless. With my deeds and with my heart. To give without caring for returns…
8. Be thankful everyday, for all that i have, and help those who seem to have less… Im not saying i have much, but i have a roof over my head, and money enough to not starve. Wouldn’t it be great to share this with someone who isn’t as sure about their own situation…
Thats all i have for now, and frankly, i think thats all the change i can handle in 1 year. I’ll fix the rest of whats broken the year after :)
Godspeed us all on our merry way! Have a great year. View all comments by Ru1
Thanks for sharing! Wow, I like your list! In fact I like it so much I wanna adopt it in its entirety.
You have a few in there that my list is missing.
Maybe we should both bookmark this page and check back every so often to make sure we’re on track. View all comments by Veron
I hope your $2 Pledge will influence more people around you. :) Saw the post regarding about your $2 Pledge on blogtv.sg, and I think its a great idea to help these elderly people. ;) I should start doing this too. That’s a neat list, personally I think if I were to do a list like this, I doubt I’ll actually follow that strictly. -.~ The only thing that’s probably on my list that I’ll follow is to:
1. Do more good deeds, for I believe in karma. :D However, help the right kind of people and not those cheaters. ~_~ They are flooding the streets.
;) Have a great year ahead and I hope you’ll be able to fulfill your resolutions this year. ;) View all comments by Haley
