Prison Break Returns

i practically flew home after work. can you guess why?

season 2 of prison break is out!

boy oh boy oh boy. prison break’s my most favorite tv show. not long before that it had been lost for quite a while. i like shows that have a bit of mystery in them. okay a large chunk of it. of course when it comes to mysteries, lost brings home the award for being the most unsolvable! while you are still grappling with one riddle, ten new ones pop up before you can say nanoparticles. i still love the show, but it sure gets tiresome and frustrating after a while.

prison break, on the other hand, doesn’t leave you hanging episode after episode. the show is jampacked with intriguing puzzles that would make you go hmmm at first, then whoa! there are always clever twists here and there so it’s quite impossible to get tired with the show.

well it’s been just three months since season 1 ended so i’m really surprised to see the airing of season 2 this soon. i was so excited i even ordered a take-out from pizza pazza!

for those not in the know, prison break is about this brooding guy, michael scofield (played by the droolworthy wentworth miller) who tries to help his elder brother lincoln escape from prison. lincoln is being framed for assassinating the US vice president’s brother. he is on death row so michael, being the extraordinary genius that he is, spends months making elaborate plans to get his brother out.

he deliberately gets himself into the same prison, after which we learn that he is actually the architect designer of the whole prison; he literally knows the place like the back of his hand! in fact he even had his whole body tattooed with detailed abstract patterns of the prison’s blueprint as well as his own elaborate plans (there are always plan Bs for every plan A).

season 1 ended with michael, lincoln and their gang of inmates successfully breaking out of prison. so technically, technically, season 2 isn’t really about prison break anymore. for a moment i was worried that the writers would come up with something lame like getting the escapees caught and thrown back in jail again. luckily nothing of that sort happened (yet)!

can’t wait for the new episode next week. i am so glad that the show’s back. and i’m glad for my tub of ben & jerry’s chubby hubby ice cream too.

mmm… life is good! with prison break and yummy ice cream, what more can i ask?
