when you want a good cuppa joe, tcc is a nice and affordable place to check out. but did you know that they also serve up a mean dish of salmon?

the coffee chain has a few decent items on their main course menu. there’s the usual oven-baked marinated chicken as well as the more unique kahlúa salmon which, as its name suggests, is served with coffee sauce! now that’s a novelty!
but being slightly less adventurous than usual, i decided to try out the relatively tame teriyaki sabayon salmon. the salmon is served with mashed potato and garden vegetables arranged neatly by its sides. topped with asparagus and drizzled in a minute amount of teriyaki sauce, the salmon was firm and delicious. one thing to note is that unlike those instant mixes served in many places, the creamy mashed potato is actually made from scratch.

of course, no trip to tcc is complete without a nice cup of coffee. i had a warm cup of cappuccino to end my meal.
each time i visit tcc i would wonder how the management train their staff. every waiter and waitress is so attentive, polite and helpful. they seem to really take pride in what they do and enjoy their work very much. i find that highly commendable — a rarity in most dining establishments here.

Wow I haven’t even heard of those coffee spare ribs! Looks like I’m even more of a mountain turtle haha. Would like to try those though! View all comments by Veron
Sorry I can’t help but to correct you that Kahlua is not a coffee sauce even though I think you may mean otherwise. Kahlua is a coffee liquer =) used commonly in shots, Irish coffee or cocktails. I just had to get that out of my system =p.
Seems like your charms are charming people everywhere, even the lurkers are coming out! View all comments by Aristocrat
Hey Aristocrat, I do realise that kahlúa is a coffee liqueur. One of my favorite drinks, the brown cow, is made from kahlúa :) But in this context, what is used in the kahlúa salmon dish is in fact coffee sauce (at least from what I read in the menu haha).
Yeah I didn’t realise those jewelry can draw out the lurkers! The bigger surprise is that even guys seem genuinely interested! I thought they wouldn’t give two hoots about jewelry! View all comments by Veron
Well, then they are wrong!! I always have a bad impression of TCC, for reasons I cannot fathom at all. Probably I’m a fan of Starbucks that’s why.
Well, your jewellery (now I know why it read so weird, you are using the US English) is very nice for one. And you have good instincts. The gold stars really made the charm stand out very well. Without it, I think it would have lost its starry effect (pun intended). View all comments by Aristocrat
