The Balcony Bar - Chow Down and Chill Out

bars and pubs aren’t usually known for serving good food. so when i grabbed a bite at the balcony bar recently, i was pleasantly surprised that what i had expected to be just another regular lunch (and not worth blogging about) turned out to be pretty fine indeed.

Grilled Chicken Pasta

the pasta didn’t exactly look tantalising but it was bursting with flavor. for me it was bite after bite of pure delight. i really liked the teriyaki black pepper sauce, and the chunk of chicken came in such a generous serving i couldn’t finish it. this is one of the bar’s four set lunches which are rotated throughout the week. and at just $9.90, the lunches are dirt cheap too.

New York Cheesecake & Coffee

dessert was new york cheesecake, which is usually a safe bet. but unfortunately in this case, the cheesecake turned out to be very dry, which hinted that it had been stored in the fridge for some time. i left most of it untouched. the pasta was already pretty filling on its own.

i also like the nice rocking chairs on the ground level of the bar. they’re pretty fun to sit in. of course, being an outdoor bar without air-conditioning, it does get pretty warm during sunny afternoons. but with quality food this cheap, i have no complaints.

  2. You must mean either the Pasta Cafe, or the Japanese fusion pasta at the food basement. I agree with you. I love the seafood pasta at these two places! View all comments by Veron

  3. Hi Veron

I was just wondering whether you had any recommendations for a good cosy supper place on a weekday? View all comments by Hsian
