Why I Don’t Go Clubbing

you know what’s worse than being in a drunken stupor? remembering every single dumb thing you did in that drunken stupor the day after.

number of drinks i had:
4 tequila shots
2 glasses of champagne
2 glasses of beer
numerous glasses of red wine

and that’s not even counting the amount of drinks that random strangers kept filling my glass with the moment it emptied.

number of dumb things i did:
countless (and no, i ain’t gonna tell you what they are.)

that is why i don’t go clubbing. i get way too wasted. even the bartender commented that i was a hard core drinker.

that’s it. i’m not going to touch a drop for the next one month at least.

    1. I’ve been silently reading your blog for a while, just admiring the site and your life-experiences. I have to say…I wasn’t expecting this post.

However, don’t get too down on it. Everyone does idiotic things when they’re drunk. It wouldn’t be called ‘intoxicated’ if you did brilliant things while drunk, now would it? Heh.

Just take joy in the fact that you have the excuse later on. While you could be perfectly sober and run headlong into a wall…then what? ‘whoops, I was sober!’

Hold precious the ‘darn, I was drunk…’ excuse. It’s a FINE excuse in the clubbing situations, (and the next day…to anyone who knows you and saw.) ^_^ And thanks btw, for a great blog, I love your food/restaurant ratings. Now if only I could travel to some of them! View all comments by Amused Onlooker

    6. LOL… fantastic.. i have always been impressed by how much you could drink without even the slightest outward manifestation of any drunkenness. So i guess i can only imagine how much you must have put away on this fateful night hehe. But hey, no biggie :) we’ve all had a day or too like that. And yeah, share those stories!! :D haha. I’ll share a few of mine even… Party on V. we got your back !! View all comments by Fernando

    7. I can’t stand drinking beer, actually. So most of the stuff I down gets diluted with lots of ice, many glasses of water, potato chips, nuts, curry… Wait, did curry slip in?

Anyway, I’d wince whenever I down alcohol, since it is too bitter for me to drink like what you have described. I very much prefer milk. And you can go and start pondering over the state of the world where ladies drink beer and guys drink milk :) View all comments by pkchukiss

    11. I found your website by accident. I just searched “cupcakes” in google images and your site came up. Anyway, your layout is very beautiful, I love how soft the colors are. Very nice. :)

Drinking is ok once in a while, if you pace yourself and don’t go overboard. I personally don’t drink (well, I’m still under 21) and alcoholism runs in my family so I would rather not do it so I won’t risk anything. View all comments by Hannah

    15. Since my friends and I don’t drink, we go clubs to dance our socks off. You might want to try dancing instead of drinking next time. It’s healthier! :) View all comments by Kevin

    18. Wow, Veron, u r a hardcore drinker ! I m impressed. I seldom go clubbing but if I do go, I will drink at least 2 glasses of vodka lime, 2 glasses of red wine, some beer. I always stop drinking after a certain limit as I do not want to create an ugly sight at the pub. I remembered the last time I got a bit drunk was the ‘cocktail mix of whisky and green tea’. It tastes pretty good but I can tell you the hangover I had the next day. It was real bad. Anyway, I have yet to dance on bar top till so far to date…haha!!! Cheers ! View all comments by Edna

    19. Wow that’s alot! Is that before the post-event party or after? If its before, I have to say you totally look and behave very normal, so not to worry ok?

Anyway, where did you go later part of the night? Didn’t see you after we came back from meeting the band. Hope you got home ok… View all comments by lauryn

    20. Heh heh… okay I now feel bad for being responsible for (at least) the glasses of Champagne. But for the rest, I think you’re wholly responsible! Like Lauryn I couldn’t find you when we got back up to the VIP bar after meeting Greyskull! I was sent to go get some drinks for a couple of journalists, and when I returned you had vanished!!!

I read your Sho-U post, so at least know that you made a recovery and are back on the case!

Perhaps the Tequila shots were your undoing! I would have passed out had I drunk what you did - and I’m like twice your size!!! :)

Was great meeting you! See you at the next event perhaps? :) View all comments by Noel
