If you are surfing this blog right now, you are likely a smartphone or tablet device user yourself. Heck, you are probably even reading this ON your smartphone or tablet right now!

And maybe, you are one of those rare individuals that have already advanced to the hot new category of “phablet” – a hybrid of phone and tablet that boasts a screen size of at least five inches.

For those of you who are on the lookout for a large-screen smartphone (or a tablet that makes calls, depending upon how you see it), ASUS has launched the Fonepad series with Intel Inside. These two new Android devices, namely ASUS Fonepad Note 6 and ASUS Fonepad 7, are powered by Intel, with Fonepad Note 6 running the Intel Atomâ„¢ processor Z2580 and Fonepad 7 running the Intel Atom processor Z2560.

To see the benefits of owning a phablet, watch Fonepad is Calling. This funny online video showcases how your everyday people put the Fonepad to good use. The Chinese granny playing an exciting mahjong game on her Fonepad reluctantly pauses to pick up a call. The bomb defusing expert takes a call from his wife in the midst of a life and death situation. The domino-stacking nerds who are on their way to a record high will rather answer the call (from a girl) on their Fonepad. Hehe.

The video’s hilarious, and for a commercial, the lines are rather well scripted too!

As a smartphone user who also owns a tablet, I usually prefer surfing the web on the latter due to the bigger screen. When I go out, that’s when I often face the dilemma as to whether to take the tablet or not. The tablet ends up staying at home because of its weight. With a phablet, this dilemma is eliminated altogether!

Oh, Asus, look what you’ve done. Now I really want a Fonepad.
