To finish off my three-parter review of folgers gourmet selections, I had a cup of Vanilla Biscotti over the weekend.

Being an avid fan of vanilla, I was naturally psyched to try out this vanilla-accented coffee. We had to grind it into coffee powder at the neighborhood coffee shop because I was given coffee beans. The moment we opened the bag of freshly ground coffee, the entire room filled with the sweet, delectable notes of vanilla. The aroma was that rich!

I didn’t like the taste however. It was a rather light-bodied coffee, with the vanilla flavor somewhat overpowering the coffee taste. In fact, I could hardly even tell that it’s coffee!

Sorry Folgers, I guess the coffee-lover part of me won the battle. I like it strong and pure. Flavored coffees are really not my thing, I realised. For aroma, the Vanilla Biscotti gets full marks. But when it comes to taste, this wouldn’t be something I would be raring to try again.
