That said, I do have to clarify that the 15% discount is not applicable to the Sparklette set, since the set itself is already a promotion. The discount is valid for ala carte orders, as I have mentioned above.

Anyways, I might as well say it now. The Sparklette set menu is off the table. Very sad for me as I loved the sound of a “Sparklette Menu”. Persimmon has just rolled out a buffet menu today (December 1) for lunch and dinner. There’s no more ala carte orders, it seems, as they have introduced free flow of food at a fixed price. You may have read about it in the Sunday Times yesterday.

Also, we got 15% discount on our first visit (which included 2 Sparkette sets), but this time, they didn’t give us a discount on the sets. When I asked, the waiter said they must’ve “made a mistake” the last time.

I dunno… the food’s good, but what made it great was the portions and the discount, which combined made us feel like superstars. Now, we don’t feel special anymore. No difference from eating anywhere else.

Will I go back again? I don’t know… maybe not.

Thought it would be fair to give you my feedback, whether it was good or not.

XWings: Yup, it’s a sumptuous meal. I wrote that the meal would “leave you feeling placated but not stuffed”, but after reading Debbie’s comment, I think I might be wrong about the “stuffed” part!

Having said that, I think its safer to skip a meal before going for this menu !!

We had the ravioli and fish pie as mains for the 2 sets, as well as the gula melaka ice cream and the heavenly(!!!) apple crumble with banana ice cream.
The laksa pasta we had as our separate main.
We’re STILL reeling from the experience.

Thanks V MUCH for the recommendation and the wonderful set menu. My gal pals and I had such a great time on Saturday evening. We were blown away by the food. We had two sets and one main between the three of us and it was way too much and we were forced to walk it off. We knew we had to stop eating midway into our main courses but we just kept going because the food was too good to waste. Ambience was commendable too, we felt like were were in the drama serial “Growing Up”.

Will definitely go back again. Really appreciate your recommendation.

Frankly speaking, I have never heard of Persimmon and Link Hotel even though I have been living in Singapore for close to three decades. Thanks for your mention, if not I would definitely have missed them due to my ignorance.
