Lately, we have been crazy about the Prima Taste Laksa LaMian from the company’s new Easy Gourmet Indulgence range.
Having had a great experience with the Prima Taste ready-to-cook meal kits, we’re curious to see if the new DIY laksa is as good.
The laksa lamian is much cheaper than the meal kits, but includes just two packets of sauces and the additional noodles.
Each packet holds these contents:
- Laksa premix (coconut milk mix)
- Laksa paste (herbs and shrimp paste)
- Lamian noodles
While the set is meant for one, we find that the noodles and mix contents are in fact sufficient for two small eaters.
Instead of making your laksa from scratch, you can buy this and whip up a laksa feast with minimum hassle. This is perfect if you are like me and hate cooking because of all the preparation involved and the cleaning afterwards.

Within 7 minutes, you have yourself a steaming pot of delicious laksa gravy with noodles. The best part — it actually tastes better than the ones I’ve had at hawker centres! No kidding. The coconut milk gravy is rich and fragrant, and so hearty that I slurp it all down.
It lacks the green laksa leaves and extra sachet of sambal chilli that come with the pricier ready-to-cook meal kits, but still makes for a deeply satisfying laksa experience. For some that like it hot, there is sufficient chilli heat in the gravy even without the extra sambal.
I don’t remember the last time I was so thrilled with something bought from the supermarket. You gotta try this out for yourself.

Hehe at first I had the same sentiment as you, that it’s quite expensive for just noodle and gravy and you have to add other ingredients yourself. But after tasting the laksa, I find that it is totally worth it! The portion is quite large for one person too.

I just had this for dinner. It may be expensive for instant noodles but you are paying for good-quality laksa. And it’s a pretty filling meal for one person. Really yum! I had it plain but next time around I will throw in some ingredients like prawns and boiled egg. Highly recommended!

Just tried today. LaMian doesn’t go well with Laksa! After 7 minutes it’s still quite chewy. Why have Prima Taste not consider BeeHoon instead? Why no laksa leave? The laksa gravy seems abit plain. Would prefer abit more saltier or provide a separate chillie paste like you had done it for Laksa gravy packs.

I really like the Prima Laksa Lamian.
However, if I followed the instruction and cooked the lamian for 7 minutes in the laksa mix, the lamian ended up rubbery.
I suggest to boil the lamian with water seperately for 10 minutes. Drain off the water and then cook the lamian in the laksa mix for 7 minutes.
Also, instead of 250ml of water for the laksa mix, reduced it to 200ml as now the lamian is already cooked and will not absorb water from the laksa mix.
I tried it and the lamian is now softer and taste great.

Worst Laksa I have ever tasted! Selling at S$2.70 per single packet at NTUC.
It does not contain any Laksa Leafs in it’s spices …. Maybe Prima Taste have never heard of this spice!
For S$3, I can have a bowl of decent bowl of Laksa WITH COCKLES CLAMS! Eating Laksa without cockles clams is like eating pizza without cheese! The Noodles still tasted uncook after a long period Boiling. (Any instant noodle other brand only needs 4 minutes of boiling!)
Prima Taste place the name “Singapore Laksa La Miam” on this packaging, Please Do Not Disgrace our Singaporean Taste buds, We Singaporean would have gladly Flushed this down the toilets after the first bite!
I greatest disappointment in instant noodle eating to date!

@Raymond, I am a Singaporean and I absolutely love this product. I buy my laksa leaves separate, and I add other ingredients in it. The final bowl of laksa consisting of scallops, fish cake, shrimps and tofu puffs is absolutely divine. Please don’t this if you are looking for an all in one meal.
