Memebon, the Cutest Japanese Baby Kitten

i shall start this post with a big “awww”! meet memebon, the japanese baby kitten. she’s an exotic shorthair and cuts a teeny weeny figure with a humongous amount of cute! i’m usually a sane person but cute animals like this simply render me weak and powerless. i can only surrender to the cute!

Memebon

i mean, look at her! isn’t she the cutest thing in the world? *melts into a puddle of goo* now the only words out of my mouth are “aaah”, “awww”, and “so cute!” where are her ears anyway?

kawaii overload!

Tong Heng - Tasty Traditional Chinese Pastries

the tong heng confectionery has a long history dating back to 1920. this humble little shop in chinatown is best-known for churning out popular chinese pastries such as egg custard tarts (in a distinctive diamond shape) and wife cakes.

but did you know that the curry puffs and char siew (barbecued pork) crispy cakes here are real delights too?

my mom and i have been big fans of these handmade pastries ever since my brother started buying them about five years ago. i have a personal weakness for their curry puffs in particular.

Old Town White Coffee - Ipoh’s Finest Coffee in Singapore

some time back, i sent out a tweet (twitter message) proclaiming old town white coffee to be the best 3-in-1 instant coffee ever. despite it being a rather brazen statement, given that i haven’t tasted most of the instant coffee out there, some of my followers agreed. even after a year, during which i did try several other brands of coffee, i still feel the same way.

my year-long love affair with old town white coffee is why when an outlet opened at playground @ big splash in east coast park, i immediately added it to my list of must-visit places. never mind the fact that i was already drinking the coffee both at home and at work everyday. i still felt an urgent need to check out the place!

Old Town White Coffee in Singapore

old town white coffee originated from ipoh town in 1958. while they are the biggest kopitiam (coffee shop) chain in malaysia today with 82 outlets, this east coast park outlet marks only their first foray into singapore.

and i’m pretty sure it won’t be the last.

Peranakan Museum - Trail of Colorful Treasures

a new museum has opened in town! and when it falls under the umbrella of the national heritage board, you know you are in for an eyeopening experience.

the result of a two year long renovation, the peranakan museum is the world’s largest museum dedicated to the colorful and distinctive culture of the peranakans. through ten themed galleries, visitors can explore various aspects of the peranakan culture, such as wedding and religion.

“take me there now!”

(i really like this sculpture of a little girl pulling her daddy towards the main entrance of the museum. yes, this is also the place where i found the cute cat sculpture!)
