Bintan Lagoon Resort (Day 2)
Rise and shine! We started our second day at Bintan Lagoon Resort with buffet breakfast at kopi-o restaurant. When I’m having a buffet breakfast it’s almost always when I’m on vacation. That’s why buffet breakfasts make me happy :) Anyways, the spread here consists of both Asian and Western food. We wasted no time in filling our plates. East meets West when you have fried bee hoon (rice vermicelli), sambal belachan (fermented shrimp paste) and Turkey bacon all on the same plate. Colourful huh? Those with a sweet tooth would probably prefer the pastries and snacks. The kueh lapis (layer cake) here is pretty in pink, similar in taste and texture to our colourful 9-layered version. As a huge fan of waffles, I was ecstatic to have them here too. Unfortunately they were pretty thin and lacked flavour. Following a sumptuous breakfast, it’s tee off time! We headed to the golf clubhouse (in our buggy of course) with its glorious 18-hole golf courses. There were a few early birds who beat us there in the morning. Hi,
Im surprised Bintan is so ex $$, may bring lots of supplies there. I’ve returned fr langkawi in Nov with kids. Fly with Tiger Air Promo $450 incl all charges and booking fees for 5 seats. Stayed in Berjaya. We had such wonderful time and eating out is cheap. Car rental is a must RM80/day and u an drive out to attractions and towns for meal everytime to save $$. We found few small restaurants near hotel and in town serve delicious seafood at their local price. Resort and rooms are beautiful and peaceful. Lots of things to do. Pulau Payar snorkelling is a must, fishing is always rewarding, beaches are beautiful in resort, mangroove/bat cave tour if you have extra time. The seven wells is worth climbing up only 20mins of steps, my 3 yr old did it. The cable car is a huge draw, may need to queue. In all i think ferry tickets to Bintan costs us $206, I’d rather pay $240 more to go to Langkawi. If you eat all meals in hotel, you probably pay few hundreds dollars. Check out Langkawi guys!

HI Veron, Hey Summer,
101% agreed with you…we spent almost 50% more eating in Bintan Lagoon Resort compared to a 5-star resort in Phuket and the food & service are so so only.
