Cafebiz at Traders Hotel – A Unique Biz
My Mom and I were in the mood for a dinner buffet the other night and dropped by Cafebiz at Traders Hotel. Following a $2.2 million renovation, this place has been transformed from Traders Café, a coffee house, into the current Cafebiz, a nice restaurant that offers Asian-style buffet. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Cafebiz. The food and service were top-notch, and scored full marks with me. Alaskan crab Rating: One of the first things I sampled was the Alaskan crab. The crab meat had the sweetest, richest and most succulent flavour! I am no crab expert, and found it hard to believe that this was the natural flavour of the crab. Whoa! Lobster (with Alaskan crab legs) Rating: The lobster paled in comparison. Its flesh was totally bland! On a scale of 1 to 10 its flavour was a 0; there was no taste to it at all! Again, I am no lobster expert. But isn’t the lobster supposedly king of shellfish? Salmon sashimi & crab claw Rating: Of course there were the usual fares like sushi and sashimi. Thanks for the update! It’s been quite a while since I last had their buffet. No Alaskan crab? I’m sure they still have tons of other goodies. That’s a pretty steep price increase though.

The spread never fail to impress me whenever I am there. Been there countless time when my savaging appetite get the better of me. A nice place to chat though the thought of food around you just make it difficult to concentrate. Cant find any buffet better than this.

The crab was amazing! I went to the buffet for the lobster but was shocked how bland it was just as the author said. I tried everything to make it taste better- asked for melted butter (not available), tried to spice it up etc. Then I switched to the Singapore crab- that alone was worth the price. Look out for specials. We stayed at the hotel and received a free bottle of wine with the dinner which was worth the price of one of the dinners
