Fancy a hotel staycation that truly makes you feel pampered? You gotta check out Oasia Hotel then.
If you are a busy working professional who can hardly find time for a vacation, the next best thing is a staycation at a nice local hotel. We enjoyed a wonderful weekend stay at Oasia Hotel, which is part of Far East Organisation.
Oasia Club Room
Should you ever stay at Oasia Hotel, the Club room is the way to go!
The Oasia Club room is the same size as the Deluxe room, but offers additional perks like a complimentary mini bar, breakfast, all-day drinks at the club lounge and access to the club pool facilities.
Plus, you get the breathtaking view of the Novena skyline from the Club rooms located on the 25th floor – the highest floor of the hotel!
While the room itself is not huge (25sqm), it is clean and decked out elegantly with natural wood panelling, and equipped with:
- 46 inch LCD interactive television
- Satellite television channels
- Unlimited Broadband Internet access
- Hair dryer
- In-room safe box
- Bath amenities from Thann
- iPod docking entertainment system
- Iron and ironing board
- Nespresso coffee-making facilities
- Complimentary Mini bar
- Temperature control panels
An iPod speaker dock is provided for all your music listening pleasures. Happily, I connect it with my iPhone. With familiar music playing in the background, the staycation feels like a home away from home!
Apart from the free drinks in the mini bar, the Nespresso coffee machine is also a pleasant find. Operating the appliance is fairly easy, and the coffee capsules are replenished daily.
The bathroom is equipped with a bathtub and rainshower. The shower area has a see-through glass panel. If you so wish, you can watch television while showering; the bathroom has the TV audio piped in.
Thann, the Thai skincare line, is the choice of brand for the body lotion, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner used here.
The Living Room Club Lounge
Located on the 22nd floor, The Living Room club lounge is where guests staying in the Club suites and rooms will check in (instead of the lobby area).
Club guests have 24-hour access to the lounge, which is a great place to chill out with good company or a laptop. This is easily my favourite spot at Oasia Hotel.
All-day coffee, tea, juices and soft drinks are served here.
You have probably come across the Singapore Sling cocktail. But have you ever heard of the Singapore Sling tea? It tastes very good when chilled.
Rather than using the coffee making machine, the staff take the effort to make hot drinks from scratch upon order, with coffee art to boot.
My hot chocolate beverage even comes with a dash of art, and a slice of Monbana chocolate!
Evening cocktails and canapés
Club guests who visit The Living Room between 6pm to 8pm can take full advantage of the evening cocktails and canapés.
The range of finger foods available includes the likes of hazelnut chocolate tarts, mini burgers, a cheese platter and even some scallop-filled goodies.
These spicy tomato shooters are absolutely delicious!
Cheese lovers can help themselves to the cheese platter and wines.
Did we mention there’s free-flowing alcoholic drinks too?
I really enjoy using my MacBook Air here with the complimentary wi-fi. It’s the place to work for business travellers.
During our staycation, the outdoor pool was under renovation. Thankfully, club guests have access to the club pool, which is right by the lounge.
Try having a drink in your hand as you wade in the pool! We loaded our plates with canapés and had a good time eating and drinking in the water. This is the life!
The jacuzzi is very popular among the guests especially at night. It does get chilly here due to the high floor.
24-hour fitness centre
For the gym rats, you can visit the 24-hour fitness centre. The place is rather small, but it has all the basic machinery for a workout.
As the club lounge is open 24 hours, we got curious and came by here in the middle of the night (right after our midnight workout). To our surprise, we found cup noodles available for our consumption and could help ourselves to the coffee making machine too.
Staying at Oasia Hotel is really a pampering experience. In particular, the club lounge is a fantastic hangout. The hotel staff go all out to ensure guests are well taken care of.As is common in the travel industry, we were provided with complimentary accommodation for the purpose of reviewing the service. While it has not influenced this review, Sparklette Magazine believes in full disclosure of all potential conflicts of interest.
