It’s day 3 in Tokyo and we’re ready to do some serious… Shopping! There’s no better place to do this than trendy Shibuya. Besides shopping malls and department stores, the walkways and alleys here are packed with numerous fashion shops. You can practically shop ’til you drop (in the 40 degree Japan summer heat)!
Shibuya is an area where there is a high concentration of good looking people. You know how when you walk down Orchard Road, or wherever the trendiest part of your city is, maybe just 1 out of 10 people you see is hawt? Over here, the ratio is the direct opposite! Other than manufacturing cute and pretty things, the Japanese really know how to make themselves look cute and pretty too!
First things first, a little sugar to send us along our way. We found a neat little café tucked into the basement of a building in Shibuya and had ourselves some cake!
This tiramisu was made from scratch at the café and tasted divine!
Okay, now it’s time to hit the stores!

Willy: Oh? Tell me more!
Ken: I think it depends on which part of the US you’re talking about. When I was in Texas last November I found the prices to be really decent and comparable to Singapore’s, and definitely much cheaper relative to Japan.
Daphne Maia: Have been eyeing Oosters for quite some time. Hope they have those beers!
py: Wow the Tipple Exchange walk sure sounds interesting! My, I must seem like a real alcoholic to be the first person you thought of.
mit: Thanks for sharing!

Two places (one mentioned already) where you can find lots of beer:
Oosters for all the Belgian beer you’d want, plus more (doesn’t come with chocolate though!)
Beer Cellar next to Kazbah, just next to Oosters
Paulaner Brauhaus is also famous, but that’s already been suggested
Hehe, planning to visit Japan next year myself (even have the accommodation at Ginza sorted out already, talk about advanced prepration!), so this series of posts comes just in time!

Not exactly. I know you do drink beer, and I know you would love to hear about the heritage behind Raffles Place, so I think you would like Tipple Exchange too. :)

Beni: Oh yeah, yakitori. I have amended my post. YOU take care now, my friend!
Kyo: Someone suggested Brauhaus but that’s the one at United Square, different from Paulaner Brauhaus at Millenia Walk (I think). But do German places have Belgian beers?
Isn’t Ginza an expensive place to stay in? Wow!
py: Awesome suggestion! Beer + Heritage = Educational trip with lotsa fun!

I don’t know any Japanese either and did encounter some problems speaking with the locals when asking for directions. They were always very helpful nonetheless and most of the time understood what I was saying in English. You’ll be fine, especially if you’re travelling on the subway most of the time.
