Gardens by the Bay, Singapore’s most unique and iconic garden attraction, is a destination not just appealing to tourists but also to locals. The 101-hectare garden dedicated to horticultural artistry in the midst of the city makes a great place for families and couples to spend a day together.
In its unique architectural form, there are a total of 18 Supertrees; these tree-like structures are designed to be vertical gardens for various species of climbing plants. Apart from being aesthetically pleasing, each Supertree is outfitted with technologies that mimic ecological functions, acting as environmental engines and providing a source of solar energy.
To complete the Gardens by the Bay experience, you can check out Supertree Dining. This dining venue features five different F&B dining concepts ranging from dim sum and hawker food to classic Italian cuisine, dainty desserts and fast food all under one roof.
The merchants you would find at Supertree Dining are:
- Hill Street Coffee Shop
- Peach Garden Noodle House
- Casa Verde
- Texas Chicken
- Canele Patisserie Chocolaterie
Diners can look out to the lush tropical surroundings through floor-to-ceiling glass windows in the comfort of air-conditioning.
On rainy days, witness the magnificent sight of rain showering the indoor trees through a peep-hole in the ceiling.
Hill Street Coffee Shop
Hill Street Coffee Shop evokes feelings of nostalgia with its traditional coffee-shop setting and local fares. Its menu is designed to resemble a newspaper. How creative!

As for the signature kampong rendang chicken nasi lemak, aromatic long grain basmati rice is cooked with pandan leaf and coconut milk, paired with a slow-braised, succulent chicken and house-made vegetable achar (pickled vegetables) on the side.
The rice may be a little on the dry side, but the rendang chicken is a show-stopper; it is incredibly moist and flavourful.

Any fans of fried Hokkien mee? Here, thin vermicelli and egg noodles are wok-fried in a richly flavoured broth; the broth has been simmered for hours to absorb maximum flavours from pork bones and prawn shells.

The Singapore laksa will receive nods from the traditionalists. Thick vermicelli is doused in a coconut milk based curry broth that is rich, aromatic and sufficiently thick without being cloying. It comes replete with cockles, prawns, shredded chicken and sliced hard-boiled egg.
Peach Garden Noodle House
The Peach Garden group of restaurants is highly esteemed for its signature Chinese cuisine and dim sum fare. Peach Garden Noodle House, a casual dining concept, is conceived specially for Supertree Dining.

A noodle house by appellation, you can find noodle dishes such as the noodle soup with fresh prawn dumpling. The soup is light on the palate, the noodles remain firm and are not soggy, though the highlight has to be the plump dumplings that are wrapped around fresh succulent prawns.

The Gardens by the Bay chicken rice is available exclusively at Supertree Dining. The chicken is succulent and tasty. If you omit the chicken skin, you’re missing out a lot! Well executed, though the hefty price tag may put off many people.

New on the menu, the steamed xiao long bao is ambrosial. Some may feel the pinch spending 13 bucks on a morsel of xiao long bao. However, with lavish ingredients such as goose liver and shark’s bone cartilage, you won’t be short-changed for the quality of food.

Another new item on the menu is the steamed chicken bun.
The steamed dough encases remarkably flavourful filling – baby abalone, Chinese sausage and mushroom – that is fit for a king.

The chef’s signature baked macaroni with mushroom and mozzarella cheese will satisfy cheese lovers. However, it may lack the punch to satisfy mac and cheese purists.
