last week when i was shopping around at great world city, i chanced upon these cards at a shop called gifts greetings.

these 3d cards are very elaborately made. and at $9.90, they don’t come cheap. but they look so beautiful and well-made they are definitely worth the price tag.

i’m not someone that’s true to her roots…

…when it comes to dining, that is. i would much rather eat western, italian, japanese or even muslim food anyday! so when i was at crystal jade la mian xiao long bao recently, i was pleasantly surprised to find that i actually loved the food!

the crystal jade chain of chinese restaurants is so ubiquitous these days you can’t go to a popular shopping mall without seeing one. the chain is so popular it has even divided into different specialisations. there’s crystal jade kitchen, crystal jade palace, crystal jade bakery, crystal jade la mian xiao long bao, crystal jade shanghai cuisine hu cui, et cetera. recently, they have even gone express! to think this was only my second time visiting any crystal jade outlet at all.

this is a long overdue site revamp. people have been bugging me for this. i actually conceptualised this layout months ago, but had been too busy (and lazy) to really get it up and running. but now i finally got around to doing it! this is version 11 of sparklette.net — only in fairy tales…

i emphasise that this is still work in progress with lots more to be done. therefore i call this the alpha release. with some more polishing here and there, throwing in a few finishing touches, we would be all set!

i was craving for thai food the other day, and managed to get my fix at lerk thai in bugis village. out of all the thai outlets i’ve eaten at, lerk thai seems to serve the most delicious food!

had me a cup of thai coffee, which was a-okay. in my opinion, the best coffee is still the ones sold at neighborhood kopi tiam (coffee shop).

i think i’m starting to get the hang of work life. at least i didn’t feel too tired today, despite having such little sleep over the past two days. i still have to say this though. as much as i love the fact that i’m working inside a highly reputable company, spending three hours everyday on traveling alone is just tedious. i feel more exhausted from the traveling, more so than from the work i do.

working inside a huge multi-national company definitely has its perks. even though i’m holding only a temporary position at celestica, my resume already impresses some potential employers. the next strategic step would be to print namecards for myself, namecards that bear the company logo. i would give it out to suppliers, since i’m doing indirect purchasing. i could also give it out to potential employers during my future job interviews and score some impression points, while increasing the reputation of celestica at the same time. from my point of view, it’s really a win-win situation for all!
