when it comes to casual family dinners at ABC market, one stall that always comes to mind is gu zao ren seafood taiwan porridge. they serve consistently good and reasonably priced dishes, which is the reason why we have been frequenting them for years!

Brand New Piercing

had a boring first day in school. so boring i decided to do something fun. i got myself a navel piercing at primitive art. it’s not an impulsive decision because i had been toying with this idea for over a year already.

this guy called aidil did it for me. i was quite relaxed because we were chatting about his enlarged earholes. still, the pain i felt over the ten seconds where the needle was poked in and twisting round my belly button was excruciating man. but it was nothing compared to the time i had my eye operation.

Hong Kong (Day 5)

i had set my alarm to ring at 10am, and i remember i did. but then i decided to snooze for a couple more minutes and the next thing i knew, it was 11:40am, and i had to get my butt out of the hotel by 12 noon! called up the hotel reception and a robotic female voice agreed to give me an hour more to pack. that’s the thing about the hotel. the people were helpful, polite and respectful to the extent they seemed almost mechanical. it felt very impersonal. i loved my hotel room and all, but the hotel staff were always a tad too distant.

Hong Kong (Day 4)

(note: more than 5 megabytes’ worth of images appear in this particular blog entry. loading would probably slow down to a crawl.)

last day for sightseeing. i had the alarm clock ring at 8am, and i got barely two hours of sleep behind me! made my way to the pier to take a ferry to lantau island. i have had enough of the crowded touristy side of hong kong. probably the only things i would miss are the tall towers.

Hong Kong (Day 3)

i woke up feeling hung over from the previous night, at 1pm! i was utterly shocked when i saw the time on the clock; i was sure it wasn’t working. and then i realised i had a headache. if my phone hadn’t rang, i wouldn’t even have woken up. by then, half the day was already gone!

decided to go check out the ladies’ market and ended up spending the rest of my day there. when i came out of the mong kok MTR station, it was street after street of electronic goods stores. they were even spilling out onto the streets selling PDAs and mobile phones.
